Rabbits don’t lay eggs! by Paula Metcalf and Cally Johnson-Isaacs will be the perfect story book to read and have fun with before or after Easter as a spring story.

Isn’t it clear? Rabbits don’t lay eggs! Oh, you thought they do? Well, a lot of children also think of the same.

Rupert the main character is a little rabbit who arrives to the farmyard and creates a stir when he tries to fit in with the others and make himself useful. Unfortunately enough he can’t lay eggs like the duck of the farm and also he can’t cock-a-doodle-do like the rooster. Luckily, soon he finds himself something useful to do when he starts digging. He ends up with an unusual job to do.

The Gruffalo: Enticing short story for kids at any age

The_Gruffalo.jpg

This is not only an entertaining story, your students are going to love. You can also use is to teach about the action verbs, whatever movements the forest animals make. Expaining them the real character of the verbs which are words what we use to tell others about what someone is doing. Distinguish them from other words and give them a lot of examples to make sure they understood the concept. It is also a nice idea to introduce adjectives to your students as we can find a some descriptive words in this story to make it more colourful. Another thing that you can explain is the grammar structure ‘He has…’ as the author use it a couple of times to tell us about the Gruffalo. By using The Gruffalo’s story for these, you can avoid that children got bored with grammar.

It is about Charlie and his little sister Lola who loves winter and obviously the most amazing thing about winter, which is snow. Charlie as he is the big, wise brother, guides and helps Lola to enjoy the best things about winter.
Snow is my favourite and my best is a funny and entertaining picture book for little children.

A CD is also available with the book so you can prepare some listening exercises with your students. This English short story book recommended for lower primary students who like interesting and fun-filled stories with imaginative illustrations, enjoy looking at books with contents that could possibly happen with them, too. Talking about their feelings, they would have if they were in the same situation. This story is also suitable for pre-schoolers with some colouring, talking and sequencing activities.
